Flow Tech, Inc. was founded in 1987 with the vision of one person who believed he could help people save energy and get better building control through a niche product. Our very first product line was ABB Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and it is at the core and foundation of who Flow Tech is: a technically focused, specialized product that we can sell and support better than anyone else.
After much growth and success, Flow Tech has become a go-to source for building owners, design engineers and contractors made up of over 25 employee owners and nearly 20 sustainability-focused product lines. Our service team is vital to the success of Flow Tech and consists of highly trained, experienced individuals who ensure our HVAC equipment and systems are properly documented, installed, commissioned, supported and serviced. Commercial HVAC Controls Field Technician Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified field service technician for commercial programming, start-up and service for HVAC and building control products. This person will be working mainly in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. The individual will report to the Director of Operations.
Position Overview
- Service and commission Flow Tech’s HVAC control products and systems including ABB variable frequency drives, Phoenix Controls, TOXALERT, Aircuity and other controls products we support
- Focus on Phoenix lab control systems: commissioning, programming, servicing, calibrating, and integration of these HVAC control systems
- Apply knowledge of building control systems to Flow Tech’s projects

Qualifications
- 2-year technical degree in electrical/electronic technology and/or equivalent field experience with building controls
- Experience in startup and service of building control systems, strong electrical/electronic and control background, PC skills, the ability to work independently and interact with customers are a must
- Construction experience is preferred
- Knowledge HVAC and electrical equipment is a plus
- Applicants must have a valid drivers’ license as daytime travel is required
Ideal Candidate will:
- Be comfortable around electricity and working on ladders/lifts above ceilings
- Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication and organizational skills
- Be smart and energetic with the willingness to work long hours in the construction and service industry
- Have experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting building controls
- Be a people-person who can represent the company well with its customers
- Be willing to continually learn and become educated on new products and technology

Compensation
