Commercial HVAC Controls Field Technician Position Summary

We are seeking a qualified field service technician for commercial programming, start-up and service for HVAC and building control products. This person will be working mainly in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. The individual will report to the Director of Operations.

Position Overview

  • Service and commission Flow Tech’s HVAC control products and systems including ABB variable frequency drives, Phoenix Controls, TOXALERT, Aircuity and other controls products we support
  • Focus on Phoenix lab control systems: commissioning, programming, servicing, calibrating, and integration of these HVAC control systems
  • Apply knowledge of building control systems to Flow Tech’s projects

  • 2-year technical degree in electrical/electronic technology and/or equivalent field experience with building controls
  • Experience in startup and service of building control systems, strong electrical/electronic and control background, PC skills, the ability to work independently and interact with customers are a must 
  • Construction experience is preferred
  • Knowledge HVAC and electrical equipment is a plus
  • Applicants must have a valid drivers’ license as daytime travel is required

Ideal Candidate will:

  • Be comfortable around electricity and working on ladders/lifts above ceilings
  • Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Be smart and energetic with the willingness to work long hours in the construction and service industry
  • Have experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting building controls
  • Be a people-person who can represent the company well with its customers
  • Be willing to continually learn and become educated on new products and technology
